As my sister and I were getting close to the end of our 3 hour long walk, near jungle and road.
We heard little squeaky me-ows from some tall grass near the roads edge. We found two adorable little creatures with their eyes shut!
Kittens that is. We waited to see if their mom was close by, but what are the chances of that when there's a plastic bag over one of them and the other has wandered about a yard off from the other. Desperately they are shouting out for their mom and milk...
They are covered in ants. Tiny ones that bite!
We hurried off with them to the nearest animal rescue/shelter.
Because they had too many cats and most of the workers even had taken several kitties home with them to nurture, there simply wasn't enough room!
So we took them in, fed them and kept them warm with a blanket.
Ohoh, and yes. They were about 1 day old. That's how newborn and tiny they were.
Feeding time was about every 3-4hours. Some milk formula mixed with water. After every feeding they needed to be dabbed with a wet piece of paper or cloth to go number one!! It was something I had never experienced before, as the mother cat always takes care of business.
After about 9-11days we were able to take them back to the shelter. Were they are being taken great care of.
